Digital Water Management

Digital Water Management
POWERED BY BIRCO

Rain is the fuel of nature and life. However, the original water cycle is disrupted by climate change. The crucial periods of rain are losing their balance: heavy rainfall and droughts damage the delicate equilibrium of natural systems.

RAINMESH restores this important balance – with digitized rainwater management that acts as an integral part of a Blue-Green Infrastructure. Our solution helps smart cities become more resilient and livable by applying sponge city principles: water is intelligently retained, stored, and made available at the right time.

Digital, intelligent und nachhaltig.
Because water is precious.

What is
RAINMESH?

Intelligent and digital: RAINMESH makes the rainwater management of the future possible today. This smart system, consisting of both hardware and software, provides water exactly where it is truly needed.

How does RAINMESH work?

RAINMESH stores rainwater in interconnected cisterns. It combines information such as soil moisture, weather data, and water levels, and distributes the water to various consumers according to demand and priority.

Why does RAINMESH exist?

Water is one of the most precious resources that makes life on our planet possible. That is why we are committed to treating it with respect and appreciation.

Further information

Precipitation is collected from roofs and traffic areas and stored in cisterns. Because the cisterns are networked, the water can move freely between the storage units, ensuring it is always available where it is needed most. An intelligent water network

By connecting to real-time weather data, forecasts of upcoming rainfall are factored into irrigation calculations. This optimizes the allocation of water reserves. During droughts or heavy rainfall, RAINMESH adjusts the irrigation volume for the best possible results.

Various sensors, networked via LoRaWAN, provide RAINMESH with the information required for smart water distribution. In addition to cistern fill levels, soil moisture is continuously monitored. This allows the system to plan irrigation with maximum efficiency.

There are numerous different consumers that require water: private gardens, public spaces like parks or sports fields, but also agricultural land and green roofs. RAINMESH allows for a personalized prioritization of these consumers, which are then irrigated accordingly.

The RAINMESH Cloud is the heart and brain of the system. This is where all information converges: How much water is needed? Who needs how much? And when is the next rainfall expected? The brain processes all collected data and decides exactly how much water is used where. The heart pumps the water to the right place. A living system that sustains life.

Networking
in every area

RAINMESH makes a valuable contribution to the water supply in various areas of our lives. The system is always the same, but the applications are diverse.

Urban areas

With RAINMESH, cities reduce their dependence on external water sources and better supply plants. Water and plants make a significant contribution to cooling cities – for the protection and health of the people.

Private consumption

Rainwater harvesting in private households enables sustainable resource management. Whether in the private garden, for flushing the toilet, or for the washing machine: water is precious everywhere. For everyone.

Agriculture

The use of rainwater in agriculture enables efficient irrigation of fields and crops. RAINMESH maintains ideal soil moisture and reduces the dependence on costly irrigation systems.

Leisure facilities
